Phoenix, AZ —
Amazing! Anna Loman is no longer depressed! How did she do it? Anti-depressants? Therapy? Nope! Taking the advice of a friend, she made a goddamn choice to not be depressed anymore. So cool!
During brunch with her friend Sharon, Loman confided in Sharon that she had been struggling with depression on and off for a few months. “I should probably start counseling and get on an anti-depressant,” Loman stated. “I feel like there is a dark cloud hanging over my head, like the light has left my life. There is no enjoyment. It took all the energy that I have just to make it here to brunch today. I don’t even know where to begin,” Loman said, hopeful that Sharon would provide some empathy and helpful advice.
Sharon, with a dumbfounded look on her face replied, “That’s all bullshit, Anna. I don’t believe in depression. I mean, people make choices. Either they choose to be happy or they choose to be sad. Obviously you’re choosing to be sad, Anna. Just choose happiness. Your whining is getting old.” Sharon took a sip of her mimosa and added, “Maybe go for a walk out in nature. Make a choice to be different already.”
Loman, taken aback by her friend’s words, “Wow. You’re right. I don’t know why I didn’t think of just ‘choosing to be happy!’ You’re so smart and insightful, Sharon. I don’t know what I would have done without your compassionate words of wisdom. I’m making a choice right now to not be depressed and it will definitely be sustainable. I feel better already. Thank you for curing me.”
With a puff of her chest, Sharon said, “You’re welcome, Anna. Man, I really should’ve been a counselor. I think I missed my calling.”

After reading this article I too have made a decision to be happy and am no longer depressed at all. I am certain that this is 100% realistic and I don’t understand why everyone isn’t doing it
