Your Annual Christmas Newsletter From John Lewis
Well friends, it’s that time of year again, when we update each other on all the wonderful things we’ve done with the past year. I always enjoy reading your Christmas cards and newsletters, finding out where you’ve travelled, what your kids are doing, and all the other exciting changes in your lives! In case you were wondering, I’m still paralyzed from the neck down.
I plan on setting aside time during the holidays to reflect on previous Christmases. Whether your most unforgettable moments are of frolicking in the snow, taking a romantic sleigh ride at dusk, or diving into a lake moments before someone screams “watch out it’s frozen!,” don’t those Christmas memories always remind us of better times?
I’ll bet that even as you read this, many of you are eagerly awaiting unwrapping festively wrapped packages full of terrific surprises — sort of like me discovering my colostomy and urine bags are full of terrific surprises, only different.
And, speaking of festiveness, if you’re going to be hanging lights and ornaments from your tree this Christmas, consider inviting me, because that’s an activity in which I can actually participate! I can replace the tree.
Anyhow, I’ve rambled on too long here, especially considering that I wrote all this with my eyeball. I look forward to my 24/7 nurse Lucinda reading me your cards and letters! And let’s focus on all the things we’re grateful for in this coming year, like a loving family and friends, good health, or even just the ability to scratch your left ear.
Merry Christmas, from my heavily modified home to yours!
Love, John
