Irving, TX —

This week, Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the national organization which oversees local scout councils throughout the United States, declared itself morally bankrupt.

In an open letter, BSA CEO Jim Turley explained “This is an important step in untethering our organization from any ethical or other obligations we might owe the men who were sexually abused as Boy Scouts, and freeing up resources to concentrate on covering our own behinds. Speaking of covering behinds, if these boys had done that, we could have avoided this situation entirely.”

Mr. Turley added that by declaring itself entirely bereft of any moral assets whatsoever, the BSA could enter a new chapter in its 110 year history. “Specifically, it’ll be Chapter 11.”
