Christine Unger is using her expertise as a speech-language pathologist to teach her dog Stan how to “talk” to humans.

Stan, who lives in San Francisco with his owner, knows how to communicate several different words and even some sentences. He does so by pressing on a panel of buttons that are programmed to say individual words or phrases.

“He definitely says ‘High five’ the most.” Unger said in an interview with Unsubscribed. “Initially I tried to teach him to say ‘Shake’, but he insisted on saying ‘High five’ instead.”

In time, Christine would realize that her sweet dog was actually quoting the 2006 comedy film Borat, starring Sacha Baron Cohen. “It wasn’t so apparent in the beginning, but when he kept alternating between the buttons for “Very nice!” and “My wife!”, it suddenly clicked.”

Unger told us that she has some regrets teaching little Stan how to speak, saying “At first it was funny, but now it’s becoming a little played out and exhausting. Some of it’s even a little antisemitic at times.” She added, “In hindsight, I should have omitted all those buttons about the Jews.”

We at Unsubscribed find it to be a “Great success!”
